Final Years
On the strength of the growing advanced faction of the Republican party, Roosevelt acknowledged, after 2 years of deliberation and remaining silence ashore the publish, to dare Taft for the party's designation in the 1912 election.
The Election of 1912
While Roosevelt narrowly squeaked by Taft in the common election (27.4% to 23.1%), Wilson soundly vanquished the both of them with 41.9% of the popular poll and an electoral margin of more than 350 votes. Roosevelt's venture at reignigting his political career was accordingly ended in wretched failure.
In fact, in one of the most endearing stories of Roosevelt's life - he gave a speech in Milwaukee during this campaign, before which he was shot in the chest by a would-be assassin. Realizing that the wound was not deadly (though he was bleeding through his shirt), Roosevelt proceeded on with his speech, claiming that, "it takes more than that to kill a Bull Moose!"
If it had not been as the Bull Moose party, Taft very well could have won this referendum over Democrat Woodrow Wilson. With the party split between the Republicans and the Progressives, whatsoever [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], this is no what occurred.

His cruises then took him to Europe, where he and his wife Edith traveled about, appointment brains of state and serving in one informal dimplomatic capability.

Re-entry into Politics
Very presently after leaving bureau, Theodore Roosevelt, along with his son Kermit, embarked upon a year-long junket to Africa, where they hounded thousands of animals and toured this brutal region in such a direction that no President ever had before.
Furious by his own party, Roosevelt took this for his cue to split with the Grand Old Party, onward with his many supporters, and to manner his own - the Progressive Party, which namely often known as the "Bull Moose" party, deserving to a prominent quote at Roosevelt, who claimed namely he felt as lusty as an of these beasts.
The current President was considerably more conservative than his predecessor [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and nowhere near as "in tune" with the progressive policies of larger government and public welfare that had prevailed Roosevelt's government.
After losing the election, Roosevelt embarked on a year-long expedition through the Bra
It was July of 1910 while Roosevelt and his kin eventually returned family to New York - to one of the grandest salutes the large city had ever watched. Clearly, the formerly magnificent President was still fair as renowned as ever.
Things did not necessarily go Roosevelt's way [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], however, as Taft supporters barred Roosevelt's from the deadlocked party convention, paving the way for the incumbent's victory.
As Taft began to replace Roosevelt's cupboard members with his own, Roosevelt achieved that the new President would not be willingly controled by the sometime party chairman. This would finally result in Roosevelt's determination to remove himself from the Republican party, but this would come later.
Realizing that he was still popular, and knowing that a future vocation in politics (Roosevelt was merely fifty 3 years age by this point), Roosevelt saw the location with Taft carefully.
Despite the fact that Theodore Roosevelt's heiress to the office of President of the United States, William Howard Taft, was elected handily in the 1908 elections, the former President soon realized that he had not exactly shaped the party into his own mold as many as he naturally hoped.
The Progressive party's nomination of Roosevelt in 1912 valued to little more than a more-than-usually successful third-party sprint, however.
