The twins share the responsibility of writing songs on their albums. They are both involved in vocals and guitar work, though the twin that wrote the song usually takes the lead melody. <br />Brush of Hope is a project of The Kidney Foundation of Canada and it aims to help find a cure for kidney disease by funding research in a unique and provacative way. All funds raised through the sales of the celebrity paintings will be used by The Kidney Foundation to fund innovative research in order to reduce the burden of kidney disease. <br />It is usually easy to tell which twin wrote the song. Tegan has no trouble cranking out catchy tunes with edgy lyrics and as such a majority of the songs they record have been written by Tegan.
